Our school is organised into four house groups led by an elected Year 6 pupil. The children are grouped across the age range into Everest (green), Nevis (blue), Fuji (yellow), and Snowdon (red). Children can be awarded house dojo points for any aspect of school life and we announce the winning team every Friday. The Houses compete against each other during Sports’ Day. We have house activities during Family Learning Week and work together on other occasions during the school year.
The School Council at Welford and Wickham consists of a representative from each year group from Year 1 to Year 5 and the house captains in Year 6. The council will meet regularly with Mrs Valentine to express views and make decisions. The School Council makes decisions about playground games and when we are able to, they will be involved with showing visitors around the school. They organise fundraising events for Children in Need and Sports/Comic Relief. In the past they have led church services along with the Worship Team.
We also have two Sports' Captains who support the P.E. teachers, helping to organise equipment and Sporting events.
