Welcome to Windsor!
Years 5 and 6 work together under the direction of the class teacher Mrs Kilding with the support and help of Mrs Miller and Mrs Kennedy. Mr Baker also teaches PE.
Our curriculum offer this term is 'Potions, Explosions and Dreams'. We will be thinking about dreams, linked with ambition and challenging ourselves. We will be reading 'The Firework Maker's Daughter' by Philip Pullman in the first half of the term linking to our studies of China and the ancient Shang Dynasty. We will then explore Shakespeare and Macbeth in the second half of the term- plenty of scope for witches brews! In science we will be learning about properties and changes to materials and will continue our progression across the other curriculum subjects.
In Windsor class we take on roles of responsibility as House and Sports captains and as members of the school council. We continue to develop as independent learners and thinkers. We make links across the curriculum and ground our learning in real life situations so that it makes sense to us and is relevant to the way we live now as well as preparing us for the future.
